Due to increased costs, we have increased our cat adoption fee from $90 to $100, and our dog adoption fee from $110 to $140.

There is now a desexing subsidy for female cats and female dogs in all Central Queensland areas, for people with a health care card or pension card.

Capricorn Animal Aid Organisation Inc (CAA) was founded in September 1998 when it was recognised that there was a desperate need for an organisation to meet the needs of abandoned and unwanted dogs and cats in the Rockhampton area.

CAA provides care and attention (including veterinary care, shelter and food) to unwanted, stray, neglected and abused animals. CAA does not have a shelter. All animals are 'fostered' by generous and caring volunteers who provide a home and lots of love to the animals in their care until they find new human companions to share their lives with.

Potential adopters and their adoptive environments are assessed to ensure the animal will live out its life as a well cared for and loved member of the household.

CAA's policy is to desex all animals in care to prevent more unwanted animals being born. This is the secret to the prevention of cruelty to animals and to guaranteeing a happy healthy life for every dog and cat.

Our organisation is not subsidised in any way and all funds are raised by our members.

CAA is a registered charity and incorporated association.
