Meet MAX - a gentle, sensitive boy with the most soulful eyes โ the kind that suggest he has quite a story to tell. He came into foster care as an entire male and has shown no issues at all with his carerโs dogs, happily coexisting with both small and large canine companions.
Sadly, MAX has endured a very rough few weeks. He spent over a month at the vets undergoing treatment for a serious leg injury. When the initial procedure was unsuccessful, the difficult decision was made to amputate his front left leg. Through it all, Max has shown remarkable resilience and spirit โ he hasnโt let this setback stop him from enjoying life.
MAX loves spending time in the yard with his doggie friends and is perfectly content lying beside his carer while she throws the ball for them. He ignores neighbouring dogs when they bark at the fence, sometimes approaching with quiet curiosity but never reacting or showing concern.
When MAX first entered care, it was completely understandable that he felt anxious after everything he had been through. He was prescribed anti-anxiety medication to help him adjust to all the recent changes. This may only be needed short term; however, if required long term, the cost is approximately $20 per month and greatly improves his quality of life โ something this lovely gentleman truly deserves.
With a few lumps, bumps and scars, MAX wears his past on the outside, but his heart is full of love. He will thrive in a kind, compassionate and understanding home that can offer him patience, stability and time to settle in. Ideally, Max would love a home with a friendly doggie companion to share his days with. He is most happy being allowed inside time with his family. His carer also feels he might be ok as an only dog, if he gets plenty of human time.
We know the perfect family is out there for MAX. Could it be you?
