Hi, I’m Lolly, a gentle and affectionate girl who can take a little time to feel comfortable in new situations.
I can be shy when meeting new people and other dogs, but with patience and time I come out of my shell and show you what a lovely girl I am. I’m currently living with another dog who I have become very close with, so I do enjoy having a canine companion once I feel comfortable. My behaviour around unfamiliar dogs can be quite different, and I can become defensive when I’m feeling unsure, so I’ll need a family who understands this and is willing to continue building my confidence at my own pace.
I’ve made some really lovely progress during my time in foster care. I now know how to sit, lie down and wait for my food. I still need prompting and positive reinforcement, but I’m learning and responding well to kind, consistent training.
Like any young dog, I have a few cheeky habits I’m still working on. I enjoy digging, chewing, dragging my bedding around the yard and occasionally helping myself to a shoe. I’m still learning what belongs to me and what doesn’t, so plenty of appropriate toys and continued guidance will help me along the way.
I’m best suited to a patient home that will give me time to settle in, continue my training and help me feel safe and confident. I may not be the dog who runs straight up to everyone at the park, but once I trust you, you’ll see just how loving and special I really am.
I may not be suitable for a home with cats.
