Hi, I’m Petey, a gentle little soul who’s still finding my feet in the world.
 
I can be a bit shy when I first meet new people or find myself in new places, but give me a moment and a few kind words and I’ll be right by your side, leaning in for cuddles and reassurance. I really love feeling safe and close to my people.
 
Once I come out of my shell, my playful side starts to shine. I enjoy being around other dogs and will happily bounce around, trying to get them to play by nibbling at their legs or jumping about. If they tell me they’ve had enough, I listen and give them space, I’m a respectful little guy like that.
 
I’m great with kids and really enjoy their company, though I can get a bit excited when saying hello. Because of my sharp puppy claws and enthusiasm, I’d be best suited to a home with children over 6 who can help guide me as I learn my manners.
 
I travel well in the car and settle nicely, which makes me an easy companion for outings. At home, I’m content being with my doggy mates and don’t fuss or whine when left while the humans are inside or overnight.
 
Like any puppy, I’m currently teething, so I love having things to chew. Rubber toys are great, and I’ve also had a lot of fun with palm fronds in my foster home. Keeping me stocked with appropriate chew toys will help me stay happy and busy.
 
I’m a sweet, sensitive boy who just needs a little patience and encouragement to build my confidence. In return, I’ll give you loyalty, affection, and plenty of cuddles once I know I’m safe.
